چکیده

A study was carried out with the objective of determining presence Bacillus cereus in eggshells commercialized Mexico, enterotoxigenic profile isolated strains, and production biofilms different materials as well eggshell. 1000 chicken eggs from four commercial brands were collected markets supermarkets located city Chilpancingo, Mexico. The molecular identification by amplification gyrB gene profiles cytK, ces, nheABC, hblABD genes, addition to tasA sipW genes associated biofilms. In eggshells, evaluated. microbiological analysis B. yielded a frequency 5.5% (55/1000), this higher brand III (11.6%, p=0.0001) white eggshell (7.6%, 38/500, p≤0.001) marketing source, it similar between market (5.2% / 26/500) supermarket (5.8%, 29/500). most common toxigenic (23/55). Biofilm is high PVC relation other (p<0.0001), related 72.7% 40% respectively; highest gene; eggshell, strains (54/55) able produce biofilm. Strains potential circulate persist product, which shows need for sanitary regulation country.

Enterotoxigenic gene profiles of Bacillus cereus and Bacillus megaterium isolates recovered from honey.

One hundred and thirty two Bacillus cereus and 52 Bacillus megaterium isolates from honeys were evaluated for the presence of genes encoding enterotoxin HBL, enterotoxin-T, cytotoxin K and the NHE complex, respectively. The relationship between hemolytic and coagulase activity and its correlation with the presence of the four mentioned enterotoxins was determined by principal component analysis...

Enterotoxigenic profiles of food-poisoning and food-borne Bacillus cereus strains.

The enterotoxigenic profiles of 51 B. cereus food-related strains were compared to those of 37 B. cereus food-poisoning strains. cytK and association of hbl-nhe-cytK enterotoxin genes were more frequent among diarrheal strains (73 and 63%) than among food-borne strains (37 and 33%). Unlike diarrheal strains, food-borne strains showed frequent nhe and hbl gene polymorphisms and were often low to...

Inorganic polyphosphate in Bacillus cereus: motility, biofilm formation, and sporulation.

Chains of inorganic polyphosphate (poly-P) with hundreds of P(i) residues linked by phosphoanhydride bonds, as in ATP, are found in every bacterial, fungal, plant, and animal cell, in which they perform various functions. In the spore-forming Bacillus cereus, we have identified three principal enzymes and genes involved in the metabolism of poly-P, namely, (i) poly-P kinase (PPK), which synthes...

Enterotoxigenic Profiles of psychrotolerant and mesophilic strains of the Bacillus cereus group isolated from food in Morocco

The species Bacillus cereus, known for its ability to cause food borne disease, consists of a large variety of strains. An important property for discrimination of strains is their growth temperature range. Fifty-two strains of Bacillus cereus isolated from different sources of food (milk, dairy product, spices and rice salad) for two years were determined to be either mesophilic or psychrotrop...

Alternative modes of biofilm formation by plant-associated Bacillus cereus

The ability to form multicellular communities known as biofilms is a widespread adaptive behavior of bacteria. Members of the Bacillus group of bacteria have been found to form biofilms on plant roots, where they protect against pathogens and promote growth. In the case of the model bacterium Bacillus subtilis the genetic pathway controlling biofilm formation and the production of an extracellu...
